Everybody has applied for a job and it is usually something that involves some preparation and a good presentation. We have owned a business before and have done some hiring; so, we thought it would be a good English conversation to share our experiences applying for a job as an employee and from the prospective or an employer.
English Conversation Applying for Jobs
In this Real English Conversation we talk about how you normally apply for a job in North America, at least in our experience. This is one of the several conversations we have available related to: job interviews, resumes (or CV’s), and other related topics.
Curtis and Amy (the hosts of the podcast) are from a city called Kelowna, BC in Canada. They have owned and operated several small businesses over the past 15 years, including this one, the Real English Conversations website.
You will hear common words related to applying for a job in this conversation lesson as we explain the typical things you should keep in mind such as your appearance, who you talk to and also what your resume should look like.
This Real English Conversation lesson is one of the 41 conversation lessons we have available to members of our courses. Each conversation lesson includes a full PDF transcription, MP3 download, speaking and listening exercises.
