Real English Conversations: Mother Nature
In this real English conversation, we are talking about mother nature or mother Earth and the power of nature. We discuss different types of powerful storms and natural disasters that affect our lives.
The hurricanes in 2017 were some of the most intense storms ever recorded in history. The winds and rains were very destructive in the Caribbean islands and also the southern United States.
Some people say that mother nature is getting angry because we are not taking care of our planet. The pollution can cause global warming which can create these strong and destructive storms that have winds speeds of more than 300 km per hour!
Also in 2017, Mexico experienced 2 major earthquakes that killed hundreds of people. It’s incredible to think about the strength of the Earth and how the movement of the tectonic plates can shake skyscraper buildings and entire cities violently like they are not even there.
